Nasolabial line (Laughing Lines)
Among the most aging features of the face are the deep crevices that run from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth - the nasolabial fold lines (NLFs). They typically begin to deepen when one advances with age into their late 30s or early 40s although NFLs are primarily the result of sun exposure, age & hereditary factors. One key factor is the weakening of the facial muscle as we age. Skin aging attributes to collagen loss (a factor that may be exacerbated with over sun exposure) which results in skin losing its elasticity making the folds appear much more pronounced.
